Récits de femmes aventurières

by Nerina Cocchi

with illustrations by Rosalie Schwindenhammer and Caroline Vermeulen (VML)

As an artist-in-residence at Centre Culturel de Jette in Brussels (Belgium) in 2020-2021, Nerina explored the relationship between women's experiences and public space.

This research led to the creation of five speculative fiction short stories, freely inspired by the life stories of four Jette inhabitants, with whom Nerina regularly met throughout the season to hear about their lives. Like parables, these tales try to transmit what, of life, of change and difficulties, is precious and can inform our own existences. Five travel-stories, illustrated by the delicate hands of Rosalie Schwindenhammer and Caroline Vermeulen (VML), through tenderness, the "power to do" and, somehow, spirituality too.

The book is French, edited by the Centre Culturel de Jette (2021)
